How to Lock Your iPhone to a Single App Using Guided Access !

Did you know that Apple Products have the ability to lock a user into an app? If you don’t know how to do this and you let your kids play with your iPhone or iPad then this will be life changing for you!
For the longest time, I did not know this trick…until my daughter massed emailed a photo of herself blowing snot bubbles to every single work contact I had saved on my phone. She found it so much more hilarious than I did…

After that little incident, it became my mission to learn ever little tip and trick about my phone that I could. That is when I discovered Guided Access.

HOW TO SET UP GUIDED ACCESS ON YOUR IPAD OR IPHONE

Whether you are setting this up on your iPad or iPhone, the general directions should be the same. It may vary a bit depending on what operating system you are on. I took these screen shots with my phone and am on update 9.3.2.
Directions
1 Open up settings in your phone.
2. Click General > Accessibility > Guided Access.
3. Then under passcode settings, set a passcode and save.

4. From there head to the app you want your child to play with and open it. Allow the app to load and then hit your iPhone Home Button rapidly three times. The guided access should pop up after the third button press.
5. From here select the area of the app your child can play with. This is also a really neat way to make it so your child cannot click on stuff such as in-app ads. Personally, I will use this a lot if I need one of my kids to be doing a non-preferred activity within an app that way I know they are completing the task at hand before opening it up to a preferred activity.
Then let your kids play! Once your kids are done playing on the app simply press your iPhone Home Button rapidly three times again and the passcode exit screen will pop up.
