From an exotic commodity on a couple of top-tier smartphones, to a regular feature seen even on midrangers, the fingerprint scanner has become our go-to gadget for phone locking.
Some place it on the front, some have it on the back, and a few install the scanner on the side. But there are still a few smartphones out there, in the upper midrange or flagship range, that don't have a fingerprint sensor on them (looking at you, Sony and your US Xperia models).
We were wondering, though — how important is a fingerprint scanner for you? We do live in a day and age where we keep way too much sensitive information on our phones — from clothesless pics to bank details — and most of us prefer to have this device locked. Of course, a fingerprint scanner is quickest and easiest to unlock, while still quite secure, but it's not like there aren't other options, like passwords, PIN codes, and pattern locks.
So, imagine your next favorite flagship has everything you want, but no fingerprint scanner. Would you still want it?
